Starting a new project this year! I'm calling it #OffLocation as a spinoff from my 2019 project, #BlindLocation.
This time I'm creating a piece of art in nature each week in a place that looks a little "off." As I've had to transition from a full-time photographer into a very part-time photographer since the pandemic, I've started exploring other art mediums, and the one I've really been enjoying is painting.
I also wanted to do something alone in nature, since it's where I find peace and the only place my mind seems to be able to rest as I unplug from the world.
I hope you'll follow along as I create new pieces each week, posted every Friday.
My first #OffLocation was challenging as I figured out how to get a large, thin piece of wood to stand alone in an open field against the wind, while I simultaneously figured out how to create a temporary painting studio in nature and then leave no trace behind.
After a failed attempt the day before, I figured it out and consider the final product a success.
Scroll down for details, and thanks for checking out my work.
