I recently wheatpasted flyers for my upcoming photography show: "Buy Now, Pay Later," which chronicles my friend Lyvia's transformative journey from impulsive consumerism to intentional living.

Spurred by a Black Friday epiphany during COVID-19, she began a year of mindful purchasing, seeking only essential, timeless pieces. A move from Athens to San Diego and continued impulsive buying led to another awakening, prompting her to document her shift towards ethical consumption on Instagram.

Confronting the fashion industry's dark truths, Lyvia now advocates for preloved and sustainable choices, emphasizing the importance of consuming less and valuing what we already own.

My photography show sets out to capture her evolution and the broader impact of consumerism on our lives and the environment.
